PERT Five-Layer Oxygen Barrier Pipe consists of five layers: an outer PERT protective layer + adhesive layer + EVOH (Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol Copolymer) oxygen barrier layer + adhesive layer + inner PERT plastic layer. It is widely used in various pipeline systems including hot and cold water pipes, heating systems, solar pipeline systems, and industrial fluid transport systems. Compared to standard PERT pipes, the multi-layer composite technology endows PERT Five-Layer Oxygen Barrier Pipes with superior performance.



Equipment Characteristics

  1. BAST's PERT five-layer oxygen barrier production line utilizes multi-layer co-extrusion technology to achieve high-strength bonding of the five-layer structure. The EVOH oxygen barrier layer is reliably embedded within the middle layer of the PERT pipe body, isolating it from hot water. The outer PERT protective layer ensures its oxygen barrier performance remains unaffected during transportation and installation, guaranteeing the efficient operation of the pipeline system.

  2. As EVOH material is highly sensitive to processing temperature, overheating can cause decomposition and adhesion to metal surfaces, leading to extruder blockages. Therefore, extrusion equipment with high-precision temperature control is essential. Bast's specially designed single-screw extruder is dedicated to heating and processing EVOH material. Each layer features an independently designed extrusion system ensuring production flexibility, while a centralized control system provides excellent usability. This well-designed extrusion system effectively prevents localized melt overheating and ensures superior product plasticity characteristics.


    Unlike bulky designs of traditional multi-layer extrusion systems, BAST's five-layer extrusion system boasts a compact and aesthetically pleasing design. Its integrated small-host design significantly saves space. With an excellent human-machine interface and user-friendly control system, the entire production line can be operated from a single control panel.
  3. Based on material properties and customer requirements, BAST has extensively optimized its die design. The main runner employs a spiral distribution structure, enabling fast color change and eliminating dead zones. This effectively prevents material decomposition, ensuring reliable product quality. The co-extrusion ring features a pre-distribution plane spiral structure characterized by short flow paths, uniform distribution, and absence of dead zones. Measured EVOH distribution ranges from 60 to 80 microns (μ), guaranteeing an effective barrier effect while significantly reducing the usage of this valuable material. The flexible modular design allows seamless conversion between three-layer and five-layer configurations.
